Data Sources in DataReportive
Before we dive into adding a new Data Source, let's first locate where Data Sources are managed within DataReportive.
Note: We'll assume you are logged in as an Admin — only users with Admin permissions can add, edit, or view Data Sources. If you'd like to learn more about different user roles and permissions, see the Users section.
Accessing Your Data Sources
You can access your Data Sources in two ways:
- From the Homepage:
When you log into your DataReportive account, you'll land on a homepage displaying a dashboard grid. This grid gives you an at-a-glance view of key elements in your account: Emails, Reports, Dashboards, Data Sources, Schedules, and People.
Look for the Data Sources tile — it shows how many databases are currently connected.
If you're a first-time user, you'll notice there's already a Data Source set up for you. This is a demo database provided by DataReportive, allowing you to create sample reports and dashboards without needing to connect your own database immediately. - From the Top Navigation Menu:
Alternatively, you can click on the Data Sources link located in the top navigation bar. This will take you directly to the page where all your Data Sources are listed.
Now that you know where to view your Data Sources lets add a new one.
